The Barden Bellas are back
When we talked yesterday about Katey Sagal joining the cast of Pitch Perfect 2 , we mentioned that security around the rehearsal space for the a Capella sequel is tough and strict. But there’s always a way when one of the film’s stars – in this case Rebel Wilson – is permitted to tweet a picture of the main cast out. So here’s the first look at Wilson, Anna Kendrick, director Elizabeth Banks and the rest.

— Rebel Wilson (@RebelWilson) May 15, 2014 Yes, the Barden Bellas are well and truly back, and with shooting set to kick off shortly, the likes of Kendrick, Wilson, Brittany Snow, Hana Mae Lee, Ester Dean, Alexis Knapp and new recruit Hailee Steinfeld sporting team colours in the space the cast is using to perfect their sound and movement.
What the picture does not indicate is anything about the plot, though it’ll naturally follow Beca (Kendrick), Amy (Wilson) and the others as they go through their senior year at Barden University. What problems will crop up? Well, Adam DeVine is back as former Treble Maker Bumper Allen, so everything won’t go perfectly. And Steinfeld’s expected to bring the outsider’s perspective that Beca provided last time.
With Banks directing this one from original writer Kay Cannon’s script, Universal has the film dated for May 15 next year both here and in the US.
