Colin Firth stars in first trailer for Matthew Vaughn's Kingsman: The Secret Service: watch now

The first official trailer has arrived online for Kingsman: The Secret Service, Matthew Vaughn's adaptation of the Mark Millar comic-book, set in a British spy school for proto-James Bonds.

Colin Firth stars as the veteran secret agent who spots potential in Taron Egerton's teenage tearaway, and spirits him away from the mean streets of London into an altogether more challenging environment.

After all, becoming a secret agent isn't as straightforward as turning up and getting measured for a sharp suit, and even the most street-smart of youths needs a good deal of toughening up…

Take a look at the new trailer, below…

Looks like good fun, with a sterling supporting cast backing up our two leads. Samuel L. Jackson, in particular, looks as though he's set on having some fun with his role…

Directed by Vaughn and co-starring Michael Caine, Mark Strong and Jack Davenport, Kingsman: The Secret Service will open in the UK on 17 October 2014.
