She's set for the revenge Western
Karen Gillian clearly wasn’t too spooked by appearing in successful horror outing Oculus. She’s ready to reunite with the Blumhouse team for Ti West’s new revenge Western In A Valley Of Violence .
Fellow Blumhouse veteran Ethan Hawke is starring alongside John Travolta and Taissa Farmiga in the film, which finds Gillan and Farmiga as sisters who run a hotel in a dusty small town in the 1890s. When Hawke’s character shows up seeking vengeance for his murdered best friend, the bullets and blood quickly start to fly.
This marks another departure for Jason Blum’s company, and for West, who has been known up to this point most for his horrific tales. We doubt it’ll be calm and peaceful, however. West’s latest tale of terror, The Sacrament, is out here on June 8.
And if you want to see Gillan in Oculus, that one finally arrives here on 13 June after a healthy run at the US box office. The Doctor Who veteran will also be seen in Marvel’s Guardians Of The Galaxy, playing the villainous, dangerous Nebula. That one lands in the UK on July 31.
