The US version of The Raid won’t begin filming until early 2015.
Variety report that Screen Gems has delayed production on the remake of Gareth Evans’ Indonesian hit, which was meant to commence shooting this September.
Now, director Patrick Hughes won’t get cameras rolling until the first quarter of 2015, meaning we probably shouldn’t expect to see the film until later next year.
Though no reason has been given for the delay, Variety speculates that the film’s producers are looking to attract a ‘bigger’ name to the remake.
So far, Luke Evans, Anthony Mackie, Frank Grillo and Ethan Hawke have all been associated with the film, though nobody has officially been cast yet.
