As shooting starts... Probably literally.
His new vengeance-flavoured Western might be called The Hateful Eight, but Quentin Tarantino knows he needs more than eight people to fill the ensemble. As the cameras start to roll in Colorado, the director has added Lee Horsley, Craig Stark and Belinda Owino to the cast.
QT’s latest is set roughly a decade after the American Civil War and finds an eclectic group of law keepers, outlaws, mercenaries, bounty hunters and fugitives holed up in a stagecoach waypoint when a massive snowstorm hits the area. Soon, the two men transporting a female prisoner across the country start to wonder if they’ll actually make it out alive…
The main cast includes a blend of Tarantino old hands and those new to his films, with Samuel L. Jackson, Kurt Russell, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Walton Goggins, Demian Bichir, Michael Madsen and Channing Tatum on the roster alongside James Parks and Zoe Bell.
Horsley, a veteran of ‘80s TV is no stranger to Tarantino and gunplay, since he appeared in Django Unchained alongside Stark, a regular guest actor on current shows. And even Owino scored some uncredited work on that film as a stunt performer and background actor. With production underway, the director is taking aim at a November 13 release date for the States, with no word yet on a UK schedule.
