The first trailer has been unveiled for creature-feature sequel, Monsters Dark Continent, the follow-up to Gareth Edwards’ ultra-low-budget Monsters .
Picking up after the events of the first film, the sequel paints a picture of a world that’s veritably awash with extra-terrestrial beasties, with the Middle East a particular hotbed of monster activity.
It just so happens there’s an insurgency taking place there at the same time, which is why a crack team of US military are dispatched to rescue a team of five soldiers who have been lost deep in the infected zone.
Take a look at the new trailer, below…
Gareth Edwards has now handed the directorial reins to debutant Tom Green, and it looks as though the new man will be showing a lot more of the monsters than his predecessor. Then again, it looks like he also has a fair bit more budget to play with!
Co-starring Joe Dempsie, Sofia Boutella and Johnny Harris, Monsters Dark Continent will open in the UK on 28 November 2014.
