Gone Girl has released a first official clip online, showing the moment at which Ben Affleck and Rosamund Pike first meet, before embarking on their tempestuous relationship.
This being a David Fincher film, even a supposed meet-cute is shrouded in a layer of murk and tension, as both characters take their first steps down a very troubled road.
Meanwhile, there’s also a new TV spot, in which Affleck goes on the defensive in the face of public scrutiny when his wife suddenly goes missing…

Not long to go now until this one hits our screens, and judging by the critical reaction so far, we should all be in for a black-hearted treat…
Directed by Fincher and co-starring Tyler Perry, Kim Dickens and Neil Patrick Harris, Gone Girl will open in the UK on 2 October 2014.
