A new trailer has made its debut online for A Most Violent Year, in which Oscar Isaac and Jessica Chastain set about carving out their bloody version of the American Dream.
The film is set during the winter of 1981 – statistically one of the most crime-ridden in the history of New York City – as Isaac’s successful immigrant businessman runs into trouble with the mob.
Before he knows it, things have escalated alarmingly, and it looks as though everything he has worked so hard to achieve is on the brink of being torn down around him.
Take a look at the new trailer, below…
Having directed Robert Redford in All Is Lost to great acclaim last year, this looks like another striking piece from director J.C. Chandor, whose star seems to be very much in the ascendance…
Co-starring Albert Brooks, David Oyelowo and Alessandro Nivola, A Most Violent Year will open in the UK on 31 December 2014.
