The first trailer has arrived online for Belgian horror film, Cub, in which a group of cub scouts find themselves terrorised during a camping trip to the woods.
The film follows young protagonist, Sam, who instantly senses something is not right in the woods before being confronted by a terrifying masked child who isn’t one of their party.
However, that’s just the start of the nightmare, as it soon transpires that the interloper is assisting a sinister figure, who has riddled the surrounding forest with all manner of fiendish traps…
Take a look at the new trailer, below…
Fairly unnerving stuff then, made even more so by the fact that the cast of potential victims are predominantly children. Is there a special cub scout badge for surviving an encounter with a psychopath?
Directed by Jonas Govaerts and co-starring Maurice Luijten, Evelien Bosmans and Jan Hammenecker, Cub is set to screen at TIFF, before opening in Belgium on 29 October 2014. A UK release has yet to be confirmed.
