Still in production in Vancouver, the new “event” series bringing The X-Files back to our screens continues to add to its guest cast. The latest to sign on include Lauren Ambrose, Robbie Amell and Kumail Nanjiani.
The first two, as announced by fox and reported by The Wrap, are on to play fellow FBI agents, with Ambrose as the sharp, confident Agent Einstein (who should bring the red-headed FBI flare back to the screen now that Gillian Anderson’s Scully is blonde) and Amell as the smooth, smart Agent Miller. Quite how they fit into the story has yet to be unveiled, but chances are they won’t exactly see eye to eye with our heroes.
Nanjiani, meanwhile, broke the news of his casting on Twitter, posting a photo of himself with Anderson and David Duchovny, delighted by the fact that he was getting to appear in his favourite show, in the episode Mulder And Scully Meet The Were-Monster, written and directed by Darin Morgan. He’ll play an animal control officer who helps the leads track down a mysterious creature.
