As it trundles its way through development ready for a shoot later this year, comedy sequel Bad Neighbors 2 (the film known simply as Neighbors in the States has christened its follow-up Neighbors 2) is busy locking in some supporting cast. Chloë Moretz is the first name announced.
While Variety’s story says the plot (and how Moretz will fit into it) is unknown, previous reports had Seth Rogen and Rose Byrne’s couple from the original having to deal with a noisy sorority moving in next door to replace the frat brothers they endured the first time around. They have to call in Zac Efron’s alpha frat boy-turned-retail worker Teddy to help them with the new problem.
Moretz would surely be a natural as the bitchy head of a sorority, but there’s always a chance that the script, by returning writers Andrew Jay Cohen and Brendan O’Brien (alongside Rogen and regular partner Evan Goldberg) has been evolving since news of the sequel first broke.
Nicholas Stoller is back to direct once again, and has also been at work on the script with the team. The new movie already has a UK release date set for May next year.
