New Clip From Football Animation The Unbeatables

New Clip From Football Animation The Unbeatables

Fuss in boots

Juan José Campanella, the Argentine director behind 2009’s ace crime thriller The Secret In Their Eyes, is back with, well, something a little different. The Unbeatables is a family animation that, as you can probably tell from this new clip, is almost entirely bereft of murders and government repression. What it does have is the Weinstein seal of approval, a colossal haul from the Argentinian box office and a character who looks a lot like World Cup tragi-hero and part-time Hair Bear, David Luiz. Click below to take a look.

The Unbeatables tells the tale of a gifted kid called Amadeo (voiced by Rupert Grint), who often keeps his talents hidden (again: see David Luiz) and has suffered previously at the hands of his nemesis, Grosso. His goal is to face down the terrifyingly skilled and intimidating player with the help of the football team he’s assembled. The synopsis promises adventure and excitement as Amadeo and the lads go all Hot Shot Hamish and Mighty Mouse on the villain.

Lining up alongside Grint in the English voice cast are Anthony Head, Ralf Little, Alistair McGowan, Rob Brydon and Eve Ponsonby. It’s out in English cinemas on August 15, a week earlier in Scotland and Ireland.

  1. I love watching a good foo football movie or even a football animation so thanks for pointing out this one. I thought it was pretty good and I can see the likeness to David Luiz.
