The first TV spot has arrived online for Hercules, in which Dwayne Johnson flexes his muscles as the titular warrior.
The new film will pick up with Hercules past his heroic prime, living as a travelling mercenary and nursing a host of regrets as he cashes in on his legendary reputation.
However, an opportunity to revive the glory days soon comes calling, when an ageing king and his beautiful young daughter seek him out to rescue them from a brutal warlord…

Could "I AM HERCULES" become the new "THIS IS SPARTA"? Johnson can't quite summon up the same degree of blood and thunder as Gerard Butler, but he's getting there.
Directed by Brett Ratner and co-starring Joseph Fiennes, John Hurt and Rufus Sewell, Hercules will open in the UK on 8 August 2014.
