Michael Bay planning to reboot Friday 13th for a second time

When is a reboot not a reboot? When it's a re-reboot of course! And that's exactly what Michael Bay's production company Platinum Dunes is planning for the Friday 13th franchise…

Having acquired the rights to the franchise back in 2009, Bay rebooted the series for a first time, hiring Marcus Nispel to breathe new life into Jason's teen-skewering exploits.

Sadly for Platinum Dunes, that film flopped and didn't spawn the anticipated sequel, which is why it's back to the drawing board all over again with a second do-over of the seminal slasher movie.

According to The Wrap, David Bruckner is currently in talks to direct, having impressed with his segment of the first V/H/S film, with the report suggesting he may go down the found-footage route.

Paramount will apparently be distributing the film, with a US release date set for 13 March 2015. And yes, that is a Friday...
