He's out of the courtroom drama
Announced suddenly in January, Daniel Craig/Renee Zellweger courtroom drama The Whole Truth was all set to kick off shooting next week, but has almost as abruptly been thrown into limbo as Craig has dropped out.
According to The Boston Globe (and confirmed by The Hollywood Reporter, early production on the film has halted and the start date is likely to be shoved back by three weeks while director Courtney Hunt and the producers find a new leading man. Though Zellweger and Gabriel Basso were locked into their roles, other actors such as Danny Huston, have found their negotiations for parts up in the air as the filmmakers scramble to fix the situation.
No reason has been given for Craig’s hotfooting it from the film, which is keeping its plot a secret but does boast a script by Nicholas Kazan. Whether the actor might be tempted to return is another matter, though his schedule appears relatively clear at least until October when he’ll be back in James Bond’s duds for the still-untitled next 007 film that Sam Mendes and John Logan are working up.
