The first trailer has arrived for Gone Girl, in which Ben Affleck's wife, Rosamund Pike, goes missing, and the finger of accusation soon points rather close to home.
The first trailer does a good job of establishing the story's off-kilter tone, as Affleck's publically loving appeals are compared and contrasted against what looks like an explosive temper and a fractious marriage.
A haunting version of Elvis Costello's She, completes the mood perfectly, as director David Fincher swathes this first trailer in darkness, hinting at all manner of twists and turns to come.

Excitingly (or perhaps infuriatingly) for those who have read Gillian Flynn's bestselling novel, the ending of the film will differ from that of the book, meaning that everyone can go into this one expecting some surprises along the way…
Co-starring Tyler Perry, Scoot McNairy, Missi Pyle and Patrick Fugit, Gone Girl will open in the UK on 3 October 2014.
