Kevin Hart is Josh Gad's best man. For a price...
The film itself doesn’t arrive on UK screens until next March, but with a new Kevin Hart comedy headed towards us with Think Like A Man Too, Sony is keeping him in our minds by premiering the first trailer for the one after that, The Wedding Ringer.
Weddings in movies rarely tend to go perfectly, except perhaps for those at the end of rom-coms when it’s the happy ending everyone was craving. For Josh Gad’s Doug in The Wedding Ringer, he’s got a problem up front – no one wants to be his best man. What’s a groom-to-be to do? Hire one, of course! Which is where Kevin Hart’s Jimmy comes in. He runs The Best Man, Inc., which promises to supply the best best man any groom could hope for.
Doug’s needs are even trickier, though – he not only needs his new fake best friend / man to make him look amazing, he also needs seven groomsmen. Which, according to Jimmy, is all but impossible, even though he’s named it The Golden Tux. What follows is a series of misadventures, with Doug starting to regret making the decision to hire Jimmy in the first place. But he doesn’t regret it as much as his grandma…
The Break-Up’s writer Jeremy Garelick scripted the film with Jay Lavender, is making his directorial debut here and has rounded up the likes of Kaley Cuoco, Mimi Rogers, Olivia Thirlby, Jorge Garcia and Cloris Leachman to fill out the ranks of the cast. It’ll be out on March 20 next year.
