Shane Black's pulp adaptation, Doc Savage, may have found its leading man, with Chris Hemsworth reportedly in the frame for the title role.
THR reports that Black has met with Hemsworth regarding the project, with the director regarding the Thor star as a perfect fit for the role.
A paragon of 1930s values, Savage is a character of overwhelming goodness, with the physical prowess of Tarzan and the sleuthing capabilities of Sherlock Holmes.
Black had previously described the character as "the perfect physical specimen", explaining that "when people look at him, they're overawed by the sort of symmetry and perfection he exudes."
The film apparently remains a priority for Sony, although a filming and release schedule has yet to be decided, due to budgetary issues. Hopefully they can find the requisite cash to tie Hemsworth to the role...
