Common Recruited For Suicide Squad

Common Recruited For Suicide Squad

Oscar winner scores unknown role

Common-Suicide-Squad

The cast of David Ayer’s Suicide Squad has increased by a factor of one recent Oscar winner. Common, who nabbed a trophy for his song Glory from Selma, has sealed a deal to join the villains-on-a-mission movie.

Ayer is busy shooting the film now, bringing to life the comic book adventures of a group of antiheroes and ne’er-do-wells coerced by shadowy government forces into completing impossible missions with the lure of pardons or reduced punishments.

While Common’s role isn’t specified in The Hollywood Reporter’s story, speculation has already started about him possibly being Bronze Tiger or Black Manta, which would tie-in with other characters (the latter being a primary enemy of Aquaman).

He joins an already sprawling cast that includes Will Smith, Jared Leto, Margot Robbie, Joel Kinnaman, Jai Courtney, Cara Delevingne, Viola Davis, Jay Hernandez, Karen Fukuhara, Scott Eastwood and Ike Barinholtz, not to mention potential, as-yet-unconfirmed cameos from Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor and Ben Affleck as Batman. The film is aiming for an August 5, 2016 release date.

Common was last seen in Run All Night and is also attached to Martin Campbell’s Hunter Killer
