It’s a busy old time for Game Of Thrones favourite Maisie Williams. Just this morning, word arrived about her co-starring with Asa Butterfield in indie drama Arrivals. Now she’s also joined a post-apocalyptic tale called The Forest Of Hands And Feet

Writer/director Kate Maberly has adapted the script from Carrie Ryan’s bestseller, which chronicles a world set in an undetermined future where much of the human race has been ravaged by a mysterious virus. The effects leave its victims roaming the planet as violent cannibals, while those scattered groups of survivors live in fenced-off villages. Williams will be Mary, a young woman who seeks to explore the wider world beyond her safe boundaries in search of something that might help – but her mission will take her and some fellow travellers through the dark depths of the Forest of Hands and Teeth. A ravaged landscape full of dangerous people? Williams should feel right at home.

Maberly has Doug Liman on board as a producer, and seems enthused to get going on the film: “I am so incredibly excited to be stepping into the Forest and collaborating with such a brilliant creative mind as Doug’s. We can’t wait to bring Ryan’s fantastical world to life, and are absolutely thrilled to have Maisie on board.”

Williams will be seen in the current series of Doctor Who in a few weeks, and also worked on indie drama The Devil In The Deep Blue Sea. Game Of Thrones will be back on our screens next year.
