Be Inspired By The New He Named Me Malala Trailer

Be Inspired By The New He Named Me Malala Trailer

British school kids voice their support

Following a couple of traditional trailers for Davis Guggenheim's powerful documentary He Named Me Malala, here's one with a bit of a difference. Over 50 secondary school students from across the UK were involved in the making of this new 'Inspire' clip which culminates with Malala Yousafzai’s famous declamation: “One child, one teacher, one book, and one pen can change the world”.

Malala, as you're no doubt aware, was targeted by the Taliban at the age of 15 for the dire crime of wanting to go to school. She was shot in the head while travelling home on her school bus in Pakistan's Swat Valley. Though critically injured, she miraculously survived to continue her crusade for equal opportunities and education. The attention from the attack led to her taking the campaign worldwide and co-founding the Malala Fund, which helps to spotlight girls’ education globally.

Guggenheim’s film offers a candid look at her life and the relationship with her father, the man who inspired her love for education, and found himself on the wrong side of the Taliban along with his daughter. It chronicles not only big moments in her life – such as becoming a Nobel Peace Prize Laureate and speaking at the UN – but also her experiences at home with her brothers.

He Named Me Malala will arrive in UK cinemas on November 6.
