Christian Bale drops out of Steve Jobs biopic

Danny Boyle’s Steve Jobs biopic just can’t seem to catch a break, with THR reporting that leading man Christian Bale has now dropped out of the production.

According to the report, Bale withdrew from the role of Apple’s co-founder just one week after being “confirmed” by writer Aaron Sorkin, with the report citing “much deliberation and conflicted feelings”.

Bale is the second big-name star to eventually turn down the project, with Leonardo DiCaprio having also been closely associated with the role of Jobs before eventually ruling himself out.

Seth Rogen is currently in negotiations over taking the role of Jobs’ co-founder, Steve Wozniak, although it remains to be seen whether the actor will be influenced by Bale’s departure.

The film is set to be split into three 30-minute segments, charting the build-up to the launches of three key Apple products. No release date has been confirmed as yet.
