A new trailer has arrived online for Camp X-Ray, in which Kristen Stewart stars as a young private stationed at Guantanamo Bay.
The new film documents the complex relationship established between Stewart and one of the Guantanamo “detainees”, which develops into something of a friendship, albeit an unconventional one.
It’s something of a departure from Stewart’s typical blockbuster fare, and a welcome demonstration that she can do far more than a lovelorn pout.

It looks like quite the double-act between Stewart and co-star Peyman Maadi, with both actors having scored rave reviews on the festival circuit. Consider us intrigued…
Directed by Peter Sattler and co-starring Lane Garrison, John Carrol Lynch and Cory Michael Smith, Camp X-Ray will open in the US on 17 October 2014, with a UK release to be confirmed.
