Skydance Productions Plans Three Days Of The Condor TV Adaptation

Three-Days-Condor-TV-Series-Developing

Movies re-imagined as TV series continues to be a popular idea, especially when the likes of Fargo are rewarded for being successful. The latest producer making a running jump on to the bandwagon is Skydance Productions chief David Ellison, who is cooking up a show based on 1975 political thriller Three Days Of The Condor .

The film, which was adapted from James Grady’s novel Six Days Of The Condor, found Robert Redford as a thoughtful CIA analyst who is suddenly thrown into a conspiracy and must spend the next few days trying to avoid being killed as his colleagues are picked off around him.

Ellison has Jason Smilovic and Todd Katzberg on hand for writing duties and Paramount TV and MGM partnered up to help develop the idea and pitch it to networks. If one of the companies bites, the team will go ahead and figure out whether the project will become a full series or more of a limited run show. It seems like it has a decent shot, given the current atmosphere of spies, wiretaps and governmental mistrust, but it’ll have to compete with the various spy shows both on the air and in development. Still, given the flexibility of TV timing, they could splurge and ramp things up back to six days…
