Hot on the heels of his Clown, Jon Watts' next thriller is already almost upon us. Cop Car stars Kevin Bacon as a lawman with a very particular set of problems, and the trailer has just pulled up.
As you'll just have seen, the film involves two boys who find a poilce cruiser apparently abandoned in the woods and unwisely decide to take it for a joyride. Understandably it turns out their owner wants it back, but perhaps not entirely for reasons of the boys' safety. What, we wonder, is in that trunk?
"There’s a certain type of person that will take that time to grow that kind of a mustache..." says Bacon. But he's keen to stress that Cop Car is "not the darkest place I've gone" on film, referring, obviously, to those Union Jack shorts in the EE advert.
Cop Car has been gaining enthusiastic passengers on the festival circuit all year, and gets its wide release in the States on August 7. We don't have a UK date quite yet.
